Glass Dry
Erase Boards
While most dry erase boards are constructed
from acrylic plastic, glass dry erase boards are also
gaining in popularity as they present their own list of
advantages. Glass whiteboards have a smooth, translucent
glass, writing surface. One type of glass white board
actually utilizes a sheet of tempered glass, providing a
nice writing surface. It also has a non secular rear
surface treatment that blocks out the light, and most
glass white boards also have plastic sheeting on the back
so as to remove the ability to see through the back side
of the glass sheet.
A Glass erase board also comes with additional features,
including wall mounts for larger glass dry erase boards, or
plastic or wood frames for smaller ones. Glass erase boards may
also have utensil trays, like a chalkboard would have to hold
its chalk. These types of glass whiteboard, like most other
whiteboard products, are designed to be accommodating and to
provide for ease of use. These boards are just as simple to use
as traditional dry erase boards, they simply appear different
and offer a different level of security in the form of strong,
tempered glass.
The one downside to the tempered glass dry erase boards is
the fact that they are heavier than their lighter acrylic
plastic counterparts. Plastic dry erase boards are much lighter
and come in many small, portable forms. Tempered glass with a
plexiglass dry erase board on the other hand does not come in a
smaller, portable form. But if you plan on making use of a wall
mounted board, or a free standing board, then the weight of
plexiglass erase boards and tempered glass whiteboards should
not deter you from checking them out as a viable option for
your whiteboard use.
